On Monday the year 4-8 students at Rawhiti school had a athletics day. We all went in different age groups like all the year 8 girls where with the year 4 boys, each group went to different things at different times. The year 8 girls and year 4 boys went to high jump first, I am a year 8 girl so we started the high jump at 1m high but the year 4 boys started a lot lower (I don't know what exact high it was) the height the boys started at is the high I had been practicing with so sadly I did not do very well with high jump. But next we had long jump which I am OK at so I was not to worried, the first jump I did was 2m 90cm and my next jump was 2m 70cm so not to bad. We were only allowed two jumps but if you got in the top three you got to jump again, but I did not get in the top three :( . Any way next we had sprints which I am good at because of surf club, but I got put in a really fast group so once I was behind I could not catch up. We had a lunch break then next was middle distant running which is three laps around the bike track, I sat out for this one because of my ankle. Then we had another break then last we had shot put and discus, I was not very worried about discus because I had been to zones for it before but this time I did not really want to go to zones. I cant remember my scores for shot put and discus but I know I did not to to bad. Over all I had a great day and am proud of myself.

This is my name brought to life. The E was the most hardest because it was hard to get the sizing right.

                                                                                    This is my tiny house. The house had to be 10 by 10 blocks around and the perimeter of my house is 33. The design is a simple but modern design and has a kitchen, bedroom, desk and tv. If I could change anything it would be to make it bigger.  

  

Writing With Visual Prompts

I lean out the door with my dog, I walk until I can’t see my house anymore. Today I am going to go to my secret spot. I creep into a foggy forest and let my dog off the lead but still keep a good eye on her. I feel the coarse tree with my finger tips and take in my surroundings, there is no one to be seen but I like it that way I like the silence. Then all of a sudden my dog is no where to be seen “Daisy!” I yell but she does not respond I call again “Daisy COME HERE!!” but still no response I start to panic. I look every where but then I see her running towards me “ hello you found me!” I tell her. I finally get home I see my Mum and Dad sitting on the couch with distressed looks on there face. They tell me how I have been missing for 3 hours and about how they thought I had been kidnapped. I tell them where I was. They tell me never to go in that forest again but I don't listen. The next day I go in the same forest but I tie a bright pink string to all the trees I see. I found my way out of the deep forest. Mum and Dad still don't know about my adventurers into the deep dark forest.

My goals for my writing are 

1. Using more descriptive words.

2. Use better grammar.

1. It sounds really good because you use words other than just walk like you said I creep into a foggy forest

2. The grammar is really good and it all makes sense.

3. The next steps would be to read through It and make the last few lines more descriptive

Maths (Tuesday)

 

This is my Maths from yesterday (yes I know that it was yesterday but I was at drums during maths today) we had to work out how much it will cost wood to make a garden box. I explained above how I worked it out. From this I learned how to work out how much things will cost altogether and I think this is a good life skill for when I need to build something.   

Giant Panda Diagram

This is my diagram about giant pandas. The age I was aiming this towards was 5 to 7 year olds. I did it so this age range will be able to understand it. The ways I did it was I added arrows pointing to the thing it related to and also put colourful pictures. I also made the sentences short and the words were simple and not complicated.  

Math

This is my maths work from Tuesday. I have gotten a lot better at this since the first time I did this and I think ( and hope) that I will get even better .
